HMA serves as an academic, social, and professional support network for its members, as well as a service organization for the community.
The mission of HMA is to promote a fellowship of physicians to support and advance health, wellness, medical education, advocacy and community service.
As we are still in our infancy, our immediate goal is to create an expansive network of medical providers (MDs, DOs, medical students) who have an interest in the health of the Hmong community. Though we are based in Minnesota, we hope to have members not only from Minnesota, but across the United States and eventually across the globe.
Our short term goals are to provide CME training, community education, networking opportunities, and scholarship awards.
Our long term goals would include preparations for medical mission trips to Southeast Asia.
